So named because it puts waves on to things.
The reason I’ve been listed by the Goldsmith’s technology department is because I developed a process and a machine by which rod, wire and tube can be manipulated by hot bending.
It imparts a backwards and forwards pattern to the material.
These patterns are programmed into a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller).
Most metals can be used, and an infinite number of patterns can be produced, without any retooling so that one-offs to long production runs can be acheived.

It’s rather difficult to explain it as it doesn’t conform to any other broad categories of machine. This is not CAD design, it’s actual manufacturing.
