I was given a gold brooch that had lost a few of its diamonds to remake into a ring. The remaining diamonds broke down nicely into a line of diamonds either side and a central larger diamond. After a rather rambling discussion about what makes an impression on you in life, we decided to combine an experience I had when I was driving under a bridge in a flood when the wall of the bridge fell off crashing just next door to the car I was in and another experience entirely which was thinking what a beautiful bridge the Rialto bridge was. This ring is a rialto bridge that’s falling down!
