This was a commission for a couple that I never met, but it was rather interesting because the woman was suspected by her friends of being a witch, and she and her husband spent some periods apart, the brooch was in fact 2 elements, the cat and the broomstick being separate, to be worn by the man when they were apart and to be recombined to be worn by the woman when back together again.
